We were kindly invited to check out the first series of the 2019 XCO mountain bike series, held at Tolosa Park near Hobart.
Dusty trails and a beaming sun made for a ripper event, which featured a diverse range of scenery for both riders and spectators and some challenging, rocky climbs.
Riders took to either 3-4 laps of the course around the mountain bike park, and as my first XC cycling event - it was a great spectacle that allowed family members and friends to view riders at multiple points.
The event is hosted by the Hobart Wheelers Dirt Devils club, and there are another two events as a part of the state series held around Tassie.
Check out a snippet of our favourite photos from around the course below...
We're all about Tassie Athletes - so encourage riders or family members to share photos from our gallery on social media! All we ask is that you tag @thetassieathlete on either Instagram or Facebook, and use #thetassieathlete hashtag. This helps both us and the club get the awesome work of our athletes out there.
If you want to see the full gallery, want to use photos for website, advertising or commercial use, or just want a higher resolution - please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we're happy to chat.
Well done to everyone who took part - the Tassie Athlete crew are keen to get around more events across the state over the summer.
